South African Ambassador to UN in Geneva called on the new SG of UNCTAD

Geneva, 25 September 2021 (TDI): Mxolisi Nkosi, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of South Africa to the UN in Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with Rebeca Grynspan, the newly appointed Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development where they discussed the upcoming UNCTAD Ministerial Conference.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General of UNCTAD briefed the Ambassador of South Africa about the upcoming UNCTAD 15th Ministerial Conference that will take place in Bridgetown, Barbados, from 3-7 October 2021.

Along with it, both parties discussed the importance of UNCTAD in combating the effects and enhancing the threat of Covid-19. Lastly, they discussed the role of UNCTAD in the post-Covid economic development of the member countries.
