South Africa Women Cricket Team to Visit Pakistan Next Month

Lahore, 28 August 2024 (TDI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that the South Africa women’s cricket team will visit the country for three T20Is ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The South African side will arrive in the country on September 13. They will play three T20Is on September 16, 18, and 20 in Multan, before travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the mega event, the board said in a statement.

It said that matches on September 16 and 18 will start at 7 pm, while the match on September 20 will begin at 10 am.

Following the series, South Africa will leave for the UAE on Sept 21, while Pakistan will depart on September 23.

The ICC T20 World Cup, originally scheduled in Bangladesh, will now take place in the UAE from October 3 to 20.

Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside Australia, New Zealand, India and Sri Lanka. The Greenshirts will play their first game against Sri Lanka on October 3, followed by India on October 6, Australia on Oct 11, and New Zealand on Oct 14.

After the series, South Africa will depart for the UAE on 21 September, while Pakistan will leave on 23 September. Pakistan is in Group A of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, along with Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka, while South Africa is grouped with Bangladesh, England, Scotland and the West Indies.

Pakistan has also announced the squad for the mega tournament with Fatima Sana as the captain.

Fatima Sana (captain), Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, Muneeba Ali (wicket-keeper), Nashra Sandhu, Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal (subject to fitness), Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rubab and Tuba Hassan.
