Gaborone, 6 September 2021 (TDI): Over 400,000 doses of Chinese manufactured Sinovac vaccines were delivered to Botswana on Saturday. According to the government of Botswana, the South African state has purchased 404,494 vaccine doses from the Chinese biotech company.
Chinese Embassy in the UK tweeted, “More than 400,000 doses of the Chinese-manufactured #Sinovac vaccine# arrived in Botswana on 5 Sep.” In the start, under the vaccination campaign, Botswana’s aim was to vaccinate the people at high risk first. On 5 September 2021, above 215,000 people were fully vaccinated.
Moreover, China has been proactive in providing coronavirus relief equipment since the start of the worldwide vaccination drive. Furthermore, China’s vaccine diplomacy has done wonders. Because of this, many countries are siding with China on their call for a scientific and impartial investigation of the origins of Covid-19. Even a new term “Xiplomacy” has been coined in this regard.
