Single Country Exhibition to Boost Pak-Ethiopia Ties: Ambassador Beker

Islamabad (TDI): Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of Ethiopia (FDRE), Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula called on Additional Secretary Africa, Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, to review the preparations of Single Country Exhibition.

Both sides reviewed the arrangements for the Pak-Africa Trade Development Conference and the Single Country Exhibition of Pakistan, scheduled to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from May 15 to May 17, 2025.

The two officials expressed satisfaction over preparatory arrangements, and appreciated the overwhelming response from Pakistani traders and investors for participation in the Single Country Exhibition following a joint mobilization campaign by the Ethiopian Embassy and the Government of Pakistan.

Ambassador Dr. Jemal extended formal invitation to Ambassador Hamid to participate in a High-Level Business Forum “Invest In Ethiopia”, scheduled for May 12-13, 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
He noted that the Single Country Exhibition would open a new chapter in the bilateral relations.

“The Government of Ethiopia and business community are all set to host the Pakistani delegation,” he said while highlighting the opportunities the Single Country Exhibition presents for forging lasting trade and commerce relations between the two brotherly nations.

He also said that the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad has brought the Ethiopian Airlines to Pakistan, which has become a perfect instrument for successful implementation of the “Look Africa and Engage Africa” policy of Pakistan.

Ambassador Hamid Asghar lauded the proactive and leading role played by Ambassador Dr. Jemal in mobilizing the business community of Pakistan for the Single Country Exhibition. He said the Government is committed to the Look Africa and Engage Africa policy under which Ethiopia has been honored to host this year’s single country Exhibition in Addis Ababa.
