Rome, 01 November 2021 (TDI): Singapore’s Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong stressed over the need to strengthen the international collaboration amid the climate crisis, on Sunday.

Prime Minister Lee expressed scaling up sustainable finance will improve the situation.

He stated whilst addressing the ”Climate Change and the Environment” session of the G20 Summit.

He told that Singapore is establishing regional power grids with its neighbors. The grids aim to integrate Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore. The climate crisis remained an existential threat for Singapore even in the midst of the pandemic.

‘According to him, Decarbonisation and Sustainability’ will create a lot of mutually beneficial economic opportunities.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Mr Lee on the third session of the Summit stressed “mobilizing collective action”  to achieve sustainable development. The summit on ‘Sustainable Development’ was held on Sunday.

EDUCATION

Singapore enunciated its took stance on education by describing it as a “pre-requisite” for growth and sustainable development. The world needs to make efforts to improve access to education for all.

Prime Minister Lee was on an official visit for Rome, Italy to attend G20 Summit. He held bilateral meetings with other world leaders as well. Italy invited Singapore under its leadership, as Rome holds the Presidency for G20 Summit.
