Singapore, 25 August 2023 (TDI): President of the Republic of Singapore, HE Halimah Yacob, met with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, at The Istana presidential palace in Singapore on Thursday.

The discussions focused on advancing strategic cooperation, bolstering bilateral relations, and addressing regional and international matters of shared interest.

During the meeting, both leaders conveyed warm greetings from their respective heads of state.

At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs extended the regards of the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the President of Singapore.

They also conveyed His Highness’ well wishes for the health and happiness of Her Excellency, as well as for the ongoing security, stability, and prosperity of the government and the amicable people of Singapore.

The talks centered on various avenues of collaboration, encompassing fields such as social development, family, education, and innovation.

His Excellency, along with the Prime Minister of Singapore, observed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines collaboration in the domains of social development and family between the governments of both nations.

This significant event also marked the inauguration of the initial executive program for cooperation in the realm of education, as well as the formalization of an MOU between the Qatar Research Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council in Qatar and the Public Utilities Board (PUB) in Singapore

The meetings emphasize the shared vision of both countries to promote stability, prosperity, and progress in the region and beyond.
