Lahore (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday spoke by telephone with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
According to an official statement, the conversation was marked by warmth and mutual respect. The two leaders reminisced about their recent interactions in Islamabad and Rahim Yar Khan during the UAE President’s visit to Pakistan last month.
The Prime Minister lauded the UAE’s consistent and unwavering support to Pakistan, that had helped the country navigate through difficult challenges. This support, he said, was a manifestation of the historic, fraternal bonds between the leadership and the people of both countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared desire to further enhance mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE. The two leaders also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest and agreed to remain in close contact.

Pakistan and the UAE share decades of close diplomatic, economic and cultural relations, underpinned by regular leadership-level exchanges and strong people-to-people connections.
The Pakistani community in the UAE has long served as a bridge between the two countries, contributing significantly to the Emirates’ development while supporting Pakistan’s economy through remittances.
In recent years, bilateral cooperation has expanded into investment, energy, infrastructure, and trade, reflecting a shared vision for sustainable growth and regional stability. High-level visits and strategic agreements have further institutionalized collaboration, opening new avenues for joint ventures and public-private partnerships.
