Cairo, 16 August 2022 (TDI): The President of Senegal, Macky Sall offered condolences to the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El Sisi regarding the Abu Seifein church fire incident.

Senegalese President Macky Sall took to Twitter to offer his condolences to the families of the victims. He stated, “I offer my heartfelt condolences to President Abdel Fattah Alsisi and to the brother Egyptian people, Peace to their souls.”
Abu Seifein church fire incident
Abu Seifein church has great significance in the densely populated Imbaba. Which is a working-class district west of the Nile River and part of the Giza governorate in greater Cairo.
A tragic fire erupted at the Coptic Abu Seifein Church on 14 August 2022. About thirty ambulances arrived on the scene. However, the victims were immediately taken to the nearby hospitals.

The flames had consumed 41 lives including 18 children. However, according to Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, 14 people were injured while two have been discharged from the hospital.
Moreover, the police ran forensic tests and an initial investigation to determine the cause of the fire. It was revealed that a short circuit had caused a small explosion in the air conditioning unit resulting in the fire.
Hence, there was no evidence of foul play. Moreover, hundreds gathered to pay their respects. While at the two Giza churches clergymen prayed for the victims.
Senegal stands in solidarity with Egypt
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stated that he closely followed the developments of the tragic accident in Al Munira Church in Giza.
He directed all concerned state agencies and institutions to take all necessary measures to deal with this incident. Furthermore, he advised them to provide all aspects of health care to the injured.
Moreover, Standing in solidarity with Egypt, the Vice president and Ruler of Dubai conveyed a similar message to the Egyptian president.
