Islamabad, 9 August 2024 (TDI): Secretary Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, Dr. Shahida Rehmani, met with a delegation led by the Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins at the Parliament House to discuss matters of mutual interest and exchange ideas on promoting women’s empowerment.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to establish parliamentary exchanges between Pakistan and Australia, including training workshops to advance women’s participation in different fields.
Secretary WPC also highlighted the performance of the Caucus along with the initiatives taken. The delegation appreciated efforts made by the Caucus and acknowledged its significant contributions to women’s empowerment in the country.

The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation between the two nations in promoting gender equality and women’s leadership.
The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus aims to enhance females’ role in participating in Parliamentary issues.
The Caucus attributes its creation to the legacy of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan and Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. It dedicates itself to all women rights activists who have remained in the forefront of the females’ movement in the country.
