Secretary Blinken’s visit to Kuwait

Kuwait City, 30 July 2021 (TDI): The Secretary of the United States of America, Antony J. Blinken traveled to Kuwait from India.

During his visit to Kuwait, he met the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq al Ghanem, and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr.

Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah. The topics of these meetings revolved around the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, regional security, and various other issues significant for their bilateral ties.

The US Secretary noted the 30th anniversary of Operation Desert Shield and 60 years of diplomatic ties as significant events in the bilateral US-Kuwait relationship. He further expressed gratitude to the Amir for the cooperation and assistance Kuwait has provided to the US, especially in the domains of counterterrorism, defense, trade, investment, education, culture, security, and science.
