Secretary Blinken’s Meeting with ROK Foreign Minister

Washington D.C (TDI): Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken engaged in discussions with Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul yesterday at the sidelines of APEC summit.

The Secretary and Foreign Minister reaffirmed the strength and enduring nature of the U.S.-ROK Alliance, highlighting its essential role in fostering peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

Concerns were articulated regarding the evolving relationship between the DPRK and Russia, particularly in relation to the deployment of DPRK forces to support Russia in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Cho engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation on a wide range of pressing global and regional issues, especially considering the ROK’s position as the host for APEC in 2025.
