Riyadh, 18 October 2021 (TDI): Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, received a phone call on Sunday from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Wang Yi.
The two countries have been enhancing their ties throughout the years. In that sense, Saudi Arabia values its relations with China. China is Saudi Arabia’s top economic trading partner because China is the biggest importer of Saudi oil.
In the phone call, they discussed bilateral relations and issues of common concern. Furthermore, both officials agreed on strengthening the strategic partnership between the Gulf country and China.
In public statements, both officials had supported each other. For instance, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pointed out the right of China to take anti-terrorism and de-extremism measures to safeguard national security. Saudi Arabia remains an important country partner in the Middle East.
