Kuwait City, 3 June 2024 (TDI): Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Foreign Minister visits Kuwait for the second meeting of the Kuwaiti-Saudi Coordination Council on 2nd June 2024. The visit stands as an attempt to improve bilateral ties between the two countries.
Saudi Foreign Minister was welcomed by Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Sultan bin Saad and Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya at Kuwait International Airport.
Additionally, on 3rd June, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad met Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and King Salman Al Saud sent warm wishes to the Emir of Kuwait and Kuwaiti citizens, informing the Saudi Foreign Minister.
Moreover, during the meeting, Prince Faisal made mention of the prayers that were sent by the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the continued success and advancement of Kuwait.
High-ranking officials and Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Al-Yahya, were present at the meeting. The two parties deliberated about possible ways to boost collaboration and improve ties between the State of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Kuwaiti-Saudi Coordination Council
The meeting comes against the backdrop of the inaugural meeting of the Kuwaiti-Saudi Coordination Council that took place in June 2021. The summit sought to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
For the said purpose, the state leaders discussed several areas of collaboration, such as investments and the economy. They also talked about media and culture, political cooperation, security, and economic growth.

Additionally, the council vowed to create a shared vision to improve trade, bolster security, and boost military cooperation. As a result, they signed several memoranda of understanding (MoU) about sports, education, and environmental preservation.
Conclusively, the Kuwaiti-Saudi Coordination Council will open the doors to enhanced cooperation between the two nations.
