Riyadh (TDI): Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Riyadh to discuss recent regional developments.
The ministers co-chaired the second meeting of the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council on Sunday, a major diplomatic forum aimed at enhancing political, economic, and strategic exchanges between the two nations.
They discussed ways to strengthen bilateral collaboration and coordination on matters of mutual interest, according to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the occasion, Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji and his Turkish counterpart Nuh Yilmaz inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between diplomatic centers affiliated with their respective ministries.
Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies, and Turkiye’s Diplomacy Academy are agreed to work jointly to enhance cooperation and share knowledge, a statement said.
Fidan commended the positive trajectory of Turkish-Saudi ties, attributing it to the “vision put forward by our leaders.”

He said that ties between Turkiye and Saudi Arabia, shaped by historical and human connections, have proven their strength and resilience in the face of challenges and difficulties.
The first meeting of the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council, which was established during King Salman’s trip to Turkiye in 2016, took place in Ankara in February 2017.

Several key officials from both sides attended Sunday’s meeting, including Saudi Ambassador to Turkiye Fahd bin Asaad Abu Al-Nasr.
