LONDON, (TDI): British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has sharply condemned Russia’s escalating assaults on Ukrainian Black Sea ports, pointing out the worldwide ramifications of such aggression.
Speaking to Reuters, Starmer pointed out that the indiscriminate strikes are not only damaging crucial grain infrastructure but also delaying vital aid shipments to vulnerable regions such as Palestine, Africa, and the Middle East.
He accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of aggravating global food insecurity in an effort to pressure Ukraine into submission.
Since September, the United Nations has reported significant damage to six civilian vessels and key grain facilities due to Russian attacks.

British intelligence confirmed that at least four merchant ships were struck by Russian munitions in October, further disrupting the flow of goods.
Ukraine, once a leading exporter of wheat and corn, shipped around six million tons of grain monthly via the Black Sea before Russia’s invasion in 2022.

Although Ukraine has established a shipping corridor, ongoing strikes are delaying deliveries, affecting millions across the Global South.
Grain shipments intended for Egypt, southern Africa, and the World Food Programme have been delayed, worsening food shortages in these regions.
