Russian President met Jordan King at Army 2021 forum

Moscow, 24 August 2021 (TDI): President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin met with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II who is on an official visit to Russia.

Both leaders monitored the military hardware display at the Army 2021 International Military-Technical Forum. Both sides then discussed matters about bilateral coordination. Putin stated that direct contact between the counterparts is significant in building trust between the countries. He said that despite the COVID-19 restriction, Russia and Jordan’s diplomatic and political associations have shored up. On his part, King Abdullah II expressed his gratitude for Russia’s wonderful hospitality and his participation in the military exhibition. He stated that as the Russia-Jordan bilateral relations continue to reinforce, there are many opportunities in the field of agriculture and mining that need to be explored. He also discussed and praised the stable role of Russia in Syria.

The interlocutors also discussed the unfolding situation in Afghanistan and Palestine. Both parties stressed on re-coordination of the international community to support the rights of people of these countries.
