Islamabad (TDI): A high-ranking delegation from the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament, arrived in Pakistan on an official visit, the Senate announced on Sunday.
The delegation, led by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko, is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan’s Chairman Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The Russian delegation received a warm welcome at the airport by Deputy Chairman Senate Sayedaal Khan, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, and Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert P. Khorev.
The visit marks a significant step in enhancing diplomatic and parliamentary relations between Pakistan and Russia.
