Kazan, 3 May 2023 (TDI): The Republic of Tatarstan’s capital, Kazan, will host the XIV International Economic Forum Russia – the Islamic world: KazanForum 2023 from May 18-20, 2023, at the International Exhibition Center “Kazan Expo.”
The event aims to improve trade, economic, technical, educational, social, and cultural relations between Russia and the 57 states in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
KazanForum 2022 brought together over 6,000 representatives from 64 countries, including international organizations, government authorities, financial institutions, members of parliaments, top investors and businessmen, and top executives of Russian and foreign companies.
The forum consisted of about two hundred events, including more than 140 thematic sessions, focusing on Islamic finance and halal industry, international cooperation, logistics, industry, sustainable development and ESG, IT technology, innovation and investment, youth entrepreneurship, small and medium businesses, women’s perspective, education, medicine, sports, and other topics.
The development of Islamic financing mechanisms in Russia is a crucial topic, with the potential expansion of the pilot project to other regions and the move toward a unified system of accreditation of Halal certification bodies in Russia.
The forum will feature a special attention to the development of international transport and logistics corridors, as well as the extended media session “Russia-Islamic World: Media Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Economic Prosperity” for media representatives, with national news agencies’ heads and Russia’s major broadcasting corporations discussing the role and opportunities of the media industry in the OIC countries and Russia for solving sustainable development issues globally.

KazanForum-2023 will also host conferences such as “Russia – Turkey,” “Russia – Indonesia,” “Russia – Egypt,” “Russia – Azerbaijan,” “Russia – Uzbekistan,” “Russia – Malaysia,” and “Russia – Iran,” promoting trade, financial, and technological partnerships.
For entrepreneurs from both Russia and the Islamic world, KazanForum-2023 will provide opportunities to find new trade and technology partners, access new markets, and attract investments. Participants can take part in the business exhibition Russia Halal Expo, investment and infrastructure projects, the fair Russia Halal Market, and the culinary show by chefs from Islamic countries.
On May 20, the ModestFashion Day will celebrate its fifth anniversary season within KazanForum-2023, featuring a show of Russian and foreign popular brands and facilitating finding new customers abroad.
On May 20 and 21, 2023, guests of the forum can enjoy a cultural program, including a sightseeing tour to Sviyazhsk island and an excursion to the ancient city of Bolgar for the traditional celebration of Izge Bolgar zhyeny – the official day of the adoption of Islam in the Volga Bulgaria.
KazanForum-2023 will feature a function press center, organized press approaches, interviews with federal and international media, and approximately 1,000 volunteers to assist participants and guests. The forum received the “Grand Prix” award in the category “Best MICE event” at the XI National Award in the field of event tourism Russian Event Awards in 2022.
