Moscow (TDI): Russia has expressed concern over the ongoing clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, urging both sides to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Moscow was closely monitoring reports of armed confrontations taking place across much of the border region inhabited by Pashtun tribes.
According to the statement, recent days have seen fighting involving aircraft and heavy weapons, resulting in casualties on both sides.
Zakharova also noted that civilians in the border areas were bearing the brunt of the violence, including Afghan refugees who had recently returned from neighboring Pakistan and Iran.

She called on both Kabul and Islamabad to avoid further military escalation and instead address their differences through dialogue and mutual respect.
Russia has consistently advocated for stability and peaceful engagement in the region, stressing the importance of diplomatic solutions to address cross-border tensions.
