The two parties discussed issues of bilateral relations between these two countries. Russia is seeking to extend its diplomatic and bilateral ties to many countries as possible due to the current strained relations between them and the West.

They are constantly meeting with most of their allies and friends to try to establish that kind of good relationship. The meeting was centered on the ways to strengthen their ties as they move ahead this year.

The issue of cultural ties, trade partnerships, promoting peace among each other, and mutual support. The government of Belarus seeks a strong energy partner which can help to boost its economy and Russia is a good example of such.

The cultural relations were based on the fact that these two countries can develop strong interpersonal relations in promoting their cultural objects in the international community.

It is worth noticing that Russia’s cultural relations with most countries especially those of the West have been destroyed due to the crisis between them and Ukraine.

The President of Belarus stated that it is a good thing to develop that kind of relationship with Russia, looking at the influence Russia is having in the world economy in the area of oil and oil products.

Adding that, their relations will help to generate foreign exchange and revenue for the country. Sergey Lavrov thanked the President for his time & the support they have enjoyed for all these years and stated that Russia will continue to stand by them.
