In an interview, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, “We will hold the main round of talks with the US, which will take place right after the holiday season ends”.
He added that it is undesirable to defer the negotiations. Lavrov said it is high time for Moscow for the talk and US played a major role in the dialogue on security guarantees as a negotiator with Russia.
He also pointed out that, “NATO has spoken through the mouth of its Secretary-General and the Chairman of the Russia-NATO Council Stoltenberg – but clearly, at the US behest – that a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council be held right away, literally the day after that, as the organizational structure reflects the projects which we introduced and presented for consideration to the Americans and NATO officials”.

U.S. Russia Security Relations
Since 1993, Russian and US security relations worsened gradually. The Russian foreign and security relations have got a negative impact because of Russian economic and military corrosion.
However, in the current scenario, the US is increasing its involvement in the former Soviet republics, which results in growing tensions. The deteriorating relations can threaten the arms control agreement held between Russia and US.
