Russia and Pakistan Discuss Key Trade Issues

Moscow (TDI): Abdul Aleem Khan, the Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, Privatization & Communications, visited on Russian Ministers and Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Alexey Overchuk in the Kremlin.

The representatives from Pakistan and Russia discussed many projects, including a proposed rail track, bilateral trade, communications, and Tapi Gas, and they also had a detailed discussion about the agreement on international road transport during this conference.

Alexey Overchuk, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, expressed gratitude to Pakistan for showing interest in the North-South International Transport Corridor, stating that it will facilitate the finest possible commercial corridor between North-South and Eurasia.

The growth of bilateral cooperation, the magnitude of trade between the two countries, and the suggested trade route between Pakistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia were all topics at the meeting between the Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the three-day Business and Trade Investment Forum.

He called it a historic moment in two-way trade, calling it a remarkable success that 70 leading Pakistani enterprises, led by Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, participated in this forum.

Abdul Aleem Khan stated in the conversation that Pakistan aspires to strengthen its trade ties with Russia and will push Russian companies to invest in Pakistan.

He claimed that his three-day tour had been beneficial in every way and that the discussion he had with the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and the local business community in particular had produced positive outcomes.

Acknowledging the Deputy Prime Minister and the Russian Ministers, he said that these Forums will be held often in the future to boost business confidence on both sides and enable deeper collaborations.

Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan received briefings about the roles of their Departments from Russian Transport Minister Mr. Roman Starovoyt and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Alexey Gruzdev, in addition to Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Mr. Khalid Jmali.

On the final day of the three-day Pakistan-Russia Trade & Investment Forum in Moscow, Abdul Aleem Khan, the Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, met with heads of Russian business organizations and institutions and expressed gratitude to the Russian government and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce.

He said that in the next five years, Pakistan wants to boost its exports to Russia to $4.16 billion.

Given that Pakistan’s primary objective is to expand exports, for which it would proceed with a new plan of action, he stated that we will give weight to the suggestions made by the Russian business community to enhance bilateral trade.

Food, agriculture, leather products, textiles, and surgical instruments are all significant industries for Pakistan, according to Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.

To address these issues, we must come up with a shared plan of action. According to Abdul Aleem Khan, he had a fruitful and successful tour to Russia and would return from Moscow with fond memories and high aspirations.
