Islamabad, 23 June 2022 (TDI): In a meeting held at the Parliament House with the Saudi delegation on the project “Road to Makkah,” progress was discussed.

This Saudi delegation had a meeting with the Chairman of the Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani in the Parliament House. During this meeting, many aspects of this project as financial and legal aspects were discussed.

Senator Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Senator Hafiz Abdul Kareem were also part of this meeting. This meeting was held on the 21st of June 2022.

The Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia released the ‘Road to Makkah’ initiative for the year 2022 to facilitate Hajj pilgrims belonging to Pakistan and 5 different countries after tons of anticipation.

The initiative also includes Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco, and Bangladesh this year and was first launched in 2019. The Saudi Ministry stated that the initiative aimed to facilitate the pilgrims without difficulty.

It was similarly stated that during an assembly on Hajj 2022 under the undertaking, Minister for Religious Affairs, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, and Saudi Arabia Ambassador, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki expressed delight over the preparations made for the pilgrims at Islamabad Airport.

The initiative starts off with issuing the visa electronically and taking the critical traits, accompanied by means of passport strategies at the airport after the verification of the health requirements.

This would include coding and sorting the luggage to ship to their area of residency within the country. Upon their arrival, the pilgrims will easily access without delay their places of residence in Makkah and Medina without any hurdles.

While the service authorities will supply their baggage to their locations of residency. The initiative has been announced by Saudi Ministry in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Fitness, Hajj and Umrah, Civil Aviation, and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authorities.
