Representative of Tajikistan presented credentials to UN Secretary General


Dushanbe: July 07, 2021 (TDI):  The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan Jonibek Hikmat presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Antonia Guterres.

During the meeting, both parties talked about the initiative of the Leader of Nation, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon that is water-related issues, specifically the Decade of Action ”Water for Sustainable Developments”.
In order to promote the efforts towards analyzing the water-related challenges, UN Secretary-General declared 2018-2028 as the international decade for sustainable developments for water.
Both sides exchanged their views on security affairs in the region of Central Asia along with the concerns for Covid-19, security, peace, and climate. They also talked about the statement of 2025 as the year of conserving glaciers.
