Islamabad/Kabul, 15 December 2022 (TDI): Reports about massive clashes between Afghan Taliban militants and Pakistan border forces on the Pak-Afghan border have been coming in.

It is pertinent to note that in the last few months situation is becoming increasingly precarious at the border between the two neighboring countries.

Previously, the Foreign Office of Pakistan also condemned the cross-border firing from Afghan Border Forces on civilians leading to casualties.

On 11 December, according to Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR); Pakistan’s military media wing, the Afghan Security Forces opened unprovoked and indiscriminate heavy weapons fire, including artillery mortar, onto the civilian population in Chaman, Balochistan.

The result of the firing caused the death of 6 civilians with another 17 individuals injured, ISPR. According to ISPR, Pakistani border troops have given a befitting measured response, avoiding targeting civilians in the area.

Pakistan highly condemned the incident of Afghan Border Forces resorting to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on the civilian population in Chaman, the Foreign Office stated.
