Renting a car in Dubai is straightforward until the handover – when the deposit turns out to be larger than advertised, the insurance covers less than you assumed, and the rate on the contract is not the rate you saw online. Alligator Car Rental closes that gap. We rent our own fleet with no intermediaries, publish every rate before you book, and agree the full cost with you in writing before the keys change hands. Send your dates and the model you want, and availability, the exact total and the delivery time come back in one reply.
How the price is built
Every car carries two rates: a daily rate for short bookings, and a lower rate applied automatically on weekly and monthly contracts. The fleet opens at AED 150 a day and runs up to the Porsche 911 Carrera, so the same terms cover a month of commuting and a weekend that needs to look like something.
The rate step is where clients save real money. A seven-day booking removes roughly a fifth of the total; a month removes considerably more, and maintenance, tyre replacement and insurance sit inside that price rather than beside it. If your dates are flexible by a day or two, say so when you enquire – we show you where the step falls before you commit.
Which car does which job
For business trips and client meetings, you need a car that looks right at home in the Business Bay district – and the Mercedes-Benz CLA 35 AMG Coupe or GLC 200 Coupe are perfect for the job. They offer a luxury car hire Dubai: all the status and prestige without the high cost of supercar ownership.
Families and companies opt for the seven-seater KIA Carnival LX, as well as the Nissan Pathfinder SL, Lexus NX 250, or Hyundai Santa Fe; these vehicles are spacious – making airport runs convenient – and fuel-efficient for the daily school run. For budget-friendly daily city driving, the Mercedes-Benz A250 AMG and Chevrolet Groove are excellent choices, as they are easy to park and inexpensive to operate.
And when the drive itself is the point, the Porsche 911 Carrera and the Ford Mustang exist for the Jebel Jais climb, the Hatta road and the coast run to Fujairah.
Convertibles
Five open-top four-seaters are available year-round: Ford Mustang, Ford Mustang Shelby Kit, two Mercedes-Benz C300 Convertibles in white and black, and the BMW 430i Convertible. Between November and March the roof stays down all day; in summer, early mornings and evenings after 7 pm are the windows that work. Clients rent luxury convertible car models most often for weddings, photo shoots, airport arrivals and weekend runs to Hatta or the Abu Dhabi Corniche. For those routes, book three to four days rather than one: the rate drops and the road earns it.
Documents and age
Tourists: passport, valid UAE entry visa, home-country driving licence held at least 12 months. Licences from GCC states, most of Europe, the UK, USA, Canada (Quebec), Australia, Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore and South Africa are accepted directly; everyone else adds an International Driving Permit. Japanese, Turkish, Greek and South Korean licences need a consulate-approved translation.
UAE residents: UAE driving licence held at least 12 months, Emirates ID or residence visa, passport copy.
Minimum age is 21, and 23 for sports and luxury vehicles. Send scans at the booking stage – it removes the handover delay at the airport or hotel.
Deposit, payment and insurance
A credit card is not required: we accept credit and debit cards, cash, bank transfer and cryptocurrency. Deposit-free rental is available – you sign a separate agreement and consent form and pay a surety fee only, so no large sum sits blocked on your card for the length of your stay.
Basic comprehensive insurance is included in every rate. It covers incidents that are not your fault (provided there is a supporting police report); therefore, following any accident – even a minor one – you must call the police, obtain a report, and send us a copy, or the insurance coverage will be voided. If you are at fault in an accident, you are liable for the deductible, the amount of which is calculated individually for each vehicle. Drivers under the age of 25, or those who obtained their driver’s license less than 12 months ago, must pay 30% of the damage costs in addition to the deductible amount.
Charges to plan for
Salik toll is AED 6 per gate, billed at the end of the rental, and delivery or collection within Dubai is AED 100 one way. Penalties apply for returning the car unwashed, smoking inside it, losing the keys, kerbing a wheel or driving in the desert – every figure is listed in our terms in advance. Traffic fines must be settled within 24 hours of issue. Fuel level on return must match the level at pickup, and mileage limits are set per vehicle: ask your manager for the figure and the excess-kilometre rate before you sign. Exceeding the contract end time by more than one hour is charged as a full extra day.
Delivery across Dubai
We deliver to Dubai International Airport, Al Maktoum, hotels, villas and offices, and cover Business Bay, Al Barsha, Karama, Al Quoz, Deira and Dubai Oasis. Share your flight number and the car waits in the parking area on arrival; when returning there, allow 30–40 minutes before check-in for the inspection. Support runs 24/7 on WhatsApp.
Choosing the rental period
A rental period of one to three days is suitable for specific tasks, such as a trip to Abu Dhabi, a film shoot, or attending an event. A one-week rental is ideal for a vacation, offering a more favorable rate without the need for a long-term contract. Rentals of a month or longer are convenient for residents and business travelers; for companies, we create package deals with monthly payments.
Rules that protect your money
Driving is permitted only on public roads in the UAE; racing, drifting, and towing are prohibited, as is driving on beaches, dunes, or through flooded areas. Speed limits are set at 150 km/h on highways and 120 km/h within city limits. A single trip on the dunes costs more, than a month’s rental of a luxury car hire in Dubai – which is why every vehicle undergoes maintenance before being handed over and must be returned in the same condition.
