New York, 22 September 2021 (TDI): In the panel discussion conducted on the protection of women and girl’s rights in Afghanistan and the region, as sidelines to the United Nations General Assembly’s 76th session, Foreign Minister Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi represented Qatar.
In his speech, he showed his joy in participating in the panel discussion. He mentioned that the State of Qatar stands with the people of Afghanistan in acquiring their legitimate rights. The ambassador further stated that inclusive peace is the ultimate solution for impeding the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. The speech also asserted that the Afghan people should be provided humanitarian aid irrespective of the political benefits. Soltan bin Saad explained that the Qatari aid to Kabul would reach worth $50 Million.
In his speech, he elucidated that Qatar helped in the evacuation of more than 50,000 people from Kabul to Qatar and provided them with shelter, food, and healthcare. He said that Qatar assisted in the evacuation of threatened Afghan women and girls who has set free to pursue their education. In conclusion, he mentioned that Qatar will take every necessary step to help Afghan people in this hour of need through cooperation and coordination.
