Geneva, 4 October 2021 (TDI): During the 48th session of the Human Rights Council, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri pointed out “the grave Israeli violations and crimes against the Palestinians for more than seven decades, witnessed by the whole world, but the problem lies in the lack of a real deterrent to it, and the continuation of Israel, the occupying power, to act as if it is above the law”.
The State of Qatar firmly accuses Israel to violate International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The Ambassador also stressed that Qatar will not recognize current Israeli borders, as are illegitimate under International Law and UNSC Resolutions. Therefore, Qatar considers East Jerusalem as the legitimate capital for the Palestinian State despite the annexation plans of the State of Israel.
Through the meeting, Ambassador Al Mansouri gave a speech full of evidence and expressed his constant support for the Palestinian cause.
