The Supreme Committee (SC) for Delivery and Legacy of Qatar launched the International Consular Services Centre at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC)

Doha, 31 October 2022 (TDI): The Supreme Committee (SC) for Delivery and Legacy of Qatar launched the International Consular Services Centre at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), on Sunday.

The launch was attended by the Secretary General of SC, Hassan Al Thawadi, and the CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Nasser Al Khater.

The inauguration was also attended by the representatives and Ambassadors of 31 countries. Among them were the officials whose teams qualified for the finals plus the high ticket-selling countries for the championship matches.

This is the first center ever launched in the history of the World Cup with an agenda to extend support to fans globally to attend the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

It was launched in cooperation with the SC and its partners; the Ministries of Foreign and Interior Affairs, as well as government agencies in Qatar.

While speaking at the launching ceremony, Al Thawadi stated that the center will provide various services including communication with concerned authorities as well as help during emergencies, as contact numbers of the center will be provided to fans.

For his part, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Abdullah considered the center as an ideal initiative for providing services to the fans.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Janusz Janke appreciated the step as a professional gesture by the state of Qatar to encounter obstacles faced by football fans.

While the Ambassador of Spain to the State of Qatar, Javier Sanchez congratulated the government while declaring the idea of the center wonderful.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to Qatar, Dr. Mohammed Habibo Diallo stated that the center is a qualitative initiative; and will serve as a solution to problems faced by the masses at large.

It is pertinent to note that, the center will operate daily from 10 am to 10 pm during the period of the tournament from November 20 to December 18.
