Qatari support enabled the Sudanese government to consolidate peace in Darfur and fulfill its commitment to peace.
The Sudanese government and the Liberation and Justice Movement signed the Doha Peace Document on 14 July 2011.
The document was signed in the presence of the African Union, the United Nations, and Qatar. Qatar mediated between the parties over 30 months of the negotiations.
The document includes an essential element to resolve the Darfur crisis, which is also the sharing of wealth and power between the Khartoum government and the Darfur movements.
