Qatar Joins Solidarity with Ukrainian People Conference in Paris

Paris, 14 December 2022 (TDI): Qatar took part in an International conference, Solidarity with the Ukrainian people to consider emergency actions on Tuesday, 14 December 2022.

In order to respond to Ukraine’s pressing demands once more and offer prompt aid to the Ukrainian people, the French Republic convened the International Conference in conjunction with Ukraine in the French Capital, Paris.

Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Ambassador of Qatar to the French Republic, attended the conference on behalf of the country of Qatar.

In the presence of a number of top officials, the conference was presided over by the president of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who Prime Minister Denys Anatoliyovych Shmyhal represented.

Qatar’s participation in this meeting is in keeping with its position supporting peaceful solutions through conversation and mediation as well as its full readiness to assist in any international and regional effort to ease the Russian-Ukrainian situation.

Energy, water, food, health, and transportation were the main topics of discussion during the meeting, which was held to help the Ukrainian people maintain their basic infrastructure over the winter.

The conversation between Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky over the phone, which took place during the event in Paris, covered the implementation of a 10-point peace plan, defense coordination, and energy stability.

“Ukraine can count on France’s solidarity for as long as is necessary to fully re-establish its sovereignty and national integrity,” said French President Emmanuel Macron.

Along with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, there were 47 national heads of state and government present.

President Zelensky, who hasn’t left his nation since the conflict began, also spoke during the conference in the Quai d’Orsay by video.

In order to help Ukraine get through the winter, they raised more than €1 billion at the conference in Paris.
