Moldova Independence Day’s History
Moldova is an Eastern European Country and was formerly part of the Soviet Republic. The country shares borders with Romania and Ukraine.
In February 1918, the Moldavian Democratic Republic integrated into Romania later that year following a vote of its assembly.
In 1940, as a consequence of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, Moldova became a part of the Soviet Union and led to the creation of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic.
On August 27, 1991, as the dissolution of the Soviet Union was ongoing, the Moldavian SSR declared independence and took the name Moldova.
Moldova’s Independence was officially recognized on 2nd March 1992 when the country became a member of the United Nations.
Qatar – Moldava Relations
The relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Moldova are based on mutual respect.
Both sides have a desire to develop relations to the best for the common interest of both countries.
Qatar and Moldova signed a protocol for the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1997.
Later, the two sides signed an agreement for cultural cooperation. Both sides also signed a protocol for consultation between the Government of Qatar and the Government of
Moldova on 30 May 2022.
The strengthening of the relations began when the former Moldovan Prime Minister, Vlad Filat visited Qatar in 2012.
During the visit, he met the then Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani.
The bilateral relations between the two countries have witnessed further development and cooperation.
The cooperation has culminated in the opening of embassies of the two countries during the years 2013- 2014.

Furthermore, the relations have seen boosting steps both in terms of visits, contacts, messages, and even submission of mutual invitations between officials of the two countries.
The relations have also witnessed promising steps in terms of meetings held with Moldovan officials. They praised the deep bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Moldova.
The desire of the two countries to promote bilateral relations is shown in several areas such as the agreements that have been signed between the two parties.
