Doha, 10 December 2022 (TDI): The Director of the Human Rights department of Qatar, Dr. Turki Abdulla Zaid Al-Mahmoud gave remarks on Human rights Day.
He declared, “The State of Qatar expresses its entire adherence to the ideals enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on this day.”
In addition, Qatar affirmed its adherence to the international human rights covenants and charters that it has ratified and joined.
These include the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.
Along with its complete participation and interaction with the Human Rights Council’s universal periodic review mechanism, the state has also offered a standing invitation to those who hold special procedures mandates since 2010.
Celebration of International Human Rights Day in Qatar on 10 December 2022, which commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly in 1948.

This year’s theme for this holiday is “Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for all,” which serves as a reminder of the critical need to uphold everyone’s human rights and guarantee their safety and stability everywhere they go.
