The ministry explained that the State of Kuwait welcomed the statement issued by the ruling party in India, during which it announced the suspension of the aforementioned official from carrying out her duties and activities in the party because of these offensive statements. But, the State also demanded a public apology for hostile statements given by the Spoke person of BJP.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, issuing such statements reflects a clear disrespect against our religious sentiments and the increasing aspects of extremism, hatred, and elements of Islamophobia. They also reflect a clear ignorance of the message of peace and tolerance of Islamic religion, and the great role Islam has played in building civilizations in different parts of the world.
Response of other Muslim countries:
Pakistan also strongly condemned and denounced the insulting and hurtful remarks of the BJP spokesperson.
Action by India:
In response, BJP national spokeswoman Nupur Sharma was suspended from the party’s primary membership on Sunday for comments made during a recent television debate, according to BJP documents and media reports. The BJP’s Delhi media operation head, Naveen Kumar Jindal, was also expelled.
