Islamabad, 18 December 2023 (TDI): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan posted that the caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar-Ul-Haq Kakar, will embark on a one-day visit to the State of Kuwait today.
The Prime Minister will convey sympathies and condolences of the Government of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan to the Royal Family, Government and people of Kuwait regarding the sad demise of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.
According to the Kuwaiti officials, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, 86, died on Saturday. He was laid to rest in a private funeral ceremony on Sunday. The country announces 40-day mourning period with a 3-day closure of government offices.
A statement from the Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait said that Kuwait’s Crown Prince and brother of the former Emir, Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, will be the new Emir of the State of Kuwait.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Pakistan said that he was deeply saddened by the news that the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah passed away. He prayed for the departed soul that Allah bless it with the highest place in Jannat Ul Firdous.
He added that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Kuwaiti Royal Family and the People of the country at this moment of grief. The late Emir will always be remembered for his sterling contributions to strengthening the relations between the two countries of Pakistan and Kuwait.

President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi also expressed his condolences on the death of Emir of Kuwait. The President added that it was of deep shock to learn about the demise of Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.
The President remarked that today, the world has lost a great leader and strong supporter of the Islamic Ummah. He added that the government and people of Pakistan stand with their Kuwaiti brothers in this hour of sorrow.
