Islamabad, 1 September 2021 (TDI): On August 31, Prime Minister Imran Khan had an important meeting with the Foreign Minister of Germany, Heiko Maas, at the Prime Minister Office, Islamabad. The two countries are celebrating their seventy years of strong bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Foreign Minister of Germany exchanged their views on the currently unfolding situation in Kabul. The German Foreign Minister thanked Imran Khan for the assistance that Pakistan’s government has given to evacuate the German personnel from Afghanistan.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen their bilateral relations. In addition, Pakistan urged the international community for humanitarian actions in Afghanistan. The Pakistani Prime Minister said that a peaceful and stable Afghanistan is indispensable for the peace and stability of Pakistan and the region.
Heiko Maas visited Islamabad for the second time this year. This timely visit of the German Foreign Minister reflected the coordination, economic cooperation, and understanding of mutual interests between the two countries. The German Foreign Minister also extended the heartiest greetings to Imran Khan from the German Chancellor Merkel.
