Foreign Press Secretary of Japan statement on Kabul Airport attack

Tokyo, 27 August 2021 (TDI): Foreign Press Secretary of Japan, Yoshida Tomoyuki gave a statement on yesterday’s terrorist attacks on Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. 

Near Kabul International Airport, explosions occurred that killed Afghan people including U.S. military personnel. Tomoyuki expressed heartfelt condolences to those affected by the attacks. Also, stated that for any reason, terrorism cannot be justified. 

Japan ensures the utmost safety and supports the evacuation of remaining Japanese nationals and local staff in the deteriorating country.

As the situation in Afghanistan worsens, Japan condemns such attacks and will coordinate closely with the international community and concerned countries to strengthen counter-terrorism efforts and to prevent such acts of terrorism from being repeated.
