Islamabad (TDI): President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday called for further enhancing bilateral relations with Thailand, the Philippines, Slovenia, Serbia, Burkina Faso, Zambia, and Latvia, in the fields of trade, economy, and culture.
The president expressed these views while talking to the Ambassadors-designates of Thailand, Philippines, Slovenia, Serbia, Burkina Faso, Zambia, and Latvia to Pakistan, who called on him to present their diplomatic credentials, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Upon their arrival, the diplomats were presented with the guard of honor by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Armed Forces.
The president highlighted Pakistan’s desire to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with friendly countries and stressed the significance of people-to-people exchanges, joint ventures as well as cultural collaborations.

He offered full support to the newly appointed ambassadors, saying their countries would be able to further strengthen diplomatic and economic engagement with Pakistan.
The diplomats extended their gratitude to President Zardari for his warm welcome and pledged to work hard on developing relations in all sectors.

They also commended Pakistan’s strategically located position and rich cultural heritage and acknowledged the government’s ongoing efforts in bringing about peace and connectivity in the region.
