Islamabad (TDI): President Asif Ali Zardari formally received the credentials of Avazbek Atakhanov, the newly appointed Ambassador-designate of the Kyrgyz Republic, in a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday.
During the event, Atakhanov expressed his country’s keen interest in enhancing bilateral relations with Pakistan, highlighting potential avenues for cooperation in sectors such as trade, energy, and regional security.
He also conveyed the greetings of the Kyrgyz President and reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
President Zardari, welcoming the ambassador-designate, underscored Pakistan’s commitment to fortifying relations with Central Asian countries, especially Kyrgyzstan.

He expressed optimism that the two countries would build upon existing partnerships and work collaboratively to unlock economic and cultural opportunities.
Pakistan- Kyrgyzstan Relations
Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan share a friendly and cooperative relationship rooted in common interests and regional connectivity, with both countries working to strengthen ties in trade, energy, security, and cultural exchange.
Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize Kyrgyzstan after its independence in 1991.
Both nations have maintained diplomatic relations since then and are members of several regional forums, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which promote regional collaboration and stability.
