Beijing, 24 April, 2024 (TDI): President Xi Jinping of China delivered a congratulatory speech that specifically honored the forum of China-Latin American and Caribbean States Space Cooperation.
The CNSA, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Hubei provincial government are co-hosting the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Space Cooperation Forum, which were to take place in Wuhan, the province’s capital, from April 24 to 26.
This information was revealed by Lyu Bo, deputy director of the CNSA’s Department of System Engineering, during a press conference in Beijing.
Over the years, this cooperation has grown stronger, driven by the rising significance of China in the global arena.
China has been an active participant in initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative. This has played a key role in fostering Sino-Latin American inter-regionalism.
Furthermore, efforts have been made to boost cooperation in agriculture. China actively welcomes safe and high-quality agricultural products from Latin America.
The document highlighted that 2020 marked the 10th jubilee of the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum.
10 years ago, the leaders of the two countries jointly created this forum. Xi mentioned that the Sino-Latin American relationship has successfully cultivated many areas within the CSC-CELAC cooperation. The framework has thrived over the past decade.
Xi emphasized that the present moment witnessed significant accomplishments in harmonious cooperation between China and the members of LA&MC. Examples include high-end satellites for remote sensing and communication, along with information about the perfect space control system.
In addition to this, it was revealed that these contributions spurred progress in science and technology. Moreover, developments in communication and improvements in the living standards of ordinary people have come into play.

President Xi further explained that the purpose of cooperating with Latin American and Caribbean countries would involve conforming to an agreement involving space technology, with the active participation of both peoples, aimed at contributing to the building of a common future between China and LAC.
A highly anticipated international event, jointly organized by the China National Space Administration and the Hubei Provincial Department, commenced in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, on Wednesday.
