ISLAMABAD (TDI): Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended their congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the newly elected President of Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister Sharif shared his message on X, expressing sincere felicitations on Dissanayake’s victory in the presidential elections.
In his congratulatory note, President Zardari highlighted the strong ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, emphasizing their mutual cooperation in various sectors.

Dissanayake, leader of the People’s Liberation Front, won the election with a significant lead, receiving nearly 1.3 million more votes than his closest opponent.
