Kampala, 24 August 2022 (TDI): President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday received credentials from six new envoys recently posted to Uganda.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, General Haji Anubaker Jeje Odongo, and other government officials were also present during the ceremony.

Reception of Credentials
President Yoweri Museveni received credentials from Ambassador Hassan Wazir from Pakistan, Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed Awadelseed from Sudan, and Major General (Rtd) George Aggrey Awinow from Kenya.
Ismail Ayobami Alatise of Nigeria, Nguyen Nam Tien of Vietnam, and Damptey Bediako Asare of Ghana also presented their credentials.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Yoweri Museveni welcomed the new envoys. He reiterated Uganda’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the respective countries of new envoys.
The President welcomed the Ambassador of Sudan and discussed various issues with him including the economy, trade, and investment between both countries.
President Yoweri Museveni discussed the latest developments in Kenya including the recent elections with Major General (Rtd) Awinow. In a discussion with Ismail Ayobami of Nigeria, the President of Uganda urged the involvement of citizens in solving the Boko-Haram crisis.
President Yoweri Museveni during the meeting with the new Pakistani Envoy said “We look forward to strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.”
Ambassador Hassan Wazir commended the great relationship between Pakistan and Uganda. The Ambassador described President Yoweri Museveni as the father of the nation and Africa at large.
President Yoweri Museveni later met with envoys of Ghana and Vietnam. President discussed the rich cultural diversity and historical ties with Ghana’s envoy.
In meeting with Ambassador Nguyen President was assured of the commitment to further enhancing cooperation and strengthening relations between the two countries.
