Moscow, 26 January 2022 (TDI): President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, met the Olympic team to wish greetings and good luck. It is a tradition in Russia that President meets the Olympic team. However, this meeting took place via video conference on January 25, 2022.

During a conversation, President said that he knows the challenges and hardships of this long journey. Certainly, this Winter Olympics is a test of character and will. Above all, it is a fight against the strongest Olympians of the world.

Celebration of Students’ Day

Thereafter, President congratulated the Olympic team for their selection in Beijing Winter Olympics. He further commented on Tatyana’s Day. It is named after Saint Tatiana. As a result, it is also known as the Students Day.

Every year, Russia celebrates students’ day on 25th January. In this regard, President extended best wishes to head coach Tatyana Borodulina and sleigh rider Tatyana. Concurrently, student-athletes are also a part of the Russian athletic team.

Meeting with President Xi Jingping

President further stated that he will meet the President of China, Xi Jinping during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics. Moreover, they will schedule plans for future cooperation, particularly in the field of physical fitness and sports.

Like Russia, China has vast experience in organizing mega sports events. Subsequently, President hoped that the organizing committee will take all necessary measures to safeguard the health of athletes and spectators. In addition, The Russian Government and Medical-Biological Agency will also be there to provide medical advice.
