Maseru, 2 November 2022 (TDI): The President of Namibia, Dr. Hage G. Geingob joined other Heads of State in Maseru, Lesotho for the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Sam Ntsokoane Matekane.
Dr. Hage G. Geingob led a large and important delegation to the inauguration ceremony which has been one of the most important occasions in the history of the people of Lesotho.

Among other guests for the ceremony were the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, and Hakainde Hichilema, President of Zambia.
During the ceremony, Dr. Hage G. Geingob President of Lesotho also doubled as the chairman of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). He gave a speech on behalf of the delegation and the people of Lesotho.
Inauguration ceremony of Sam Ntsokoane Matekane
Sam Ntsokoane Matekane, the Prime Minister of Lesotho was elected on the 7th of October 2022 by the Populist Revolution for Prosperity Party in the Parliament of Lesotho to serve as the Prime Minister for the country.
His election was to be confirmed by the people after the inauguration ceremony. The inauguration ceremony took place as proposed by the parliament.
The delegation of Namibia also went on behalf of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). It is noteworthy that Lesotho having been a member for so long can not be neglected when it comes to the bond between these countries.
Southern Africa Development Community (SADC)
The Southern Africa Development Community was formed in Lusaka, Zambia. It has a large membership of which most of the Southern African countries are a part.
The organization seeks to foster a good relationship between all the Southern African countries. And the inauguration ceremony was one of the core mandates of the organizations
