President of China and Iraq held a phone call

Baghdad/Beijing, 18 August 2021 (TDI): On 18 August 2021, The President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, talked with the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih, on a phone call.

During the phone call, President Xi showed great significance towards the growth of Sino-Iraq relations and said that China intends to grow strategic bilateral relations with Iraq for more advanced developments.

Xi Jinping further said that China has a plan to resume support to Iraq in coping with the global pandemic. Beijing is also willing to bring progress in cooperation of two states on various areas, such as energy, electricity, and transportation, and lastly, China plans to give socio-economic support to Iraq, said Xi.
