President for Enhanced Ties with Sweden, Belgium

Islamabad (TDI): President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations with Sweden and Belgium.

He made these remarks while receiving the credentials of the new ambassadors of both countries at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday.

The president received the credentials from Ambassador-designate of Sweden, Alexandra Berg Von Linde, and Ambassador-designate of Belgium, Charles-Idesbald Van Der Gracht De Rommerswael.

Both envoys held separate meetings with President Zardari following the formal presentation of their diplomatic credentials.

President Zardari congratulated the new ambassadors on their appointments and expressed hope that they would contribute to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and their respective countries.

In his meeting with Ambassador Charles-Idesbald Van Der Gracht De Rommerswael of Belgium, the president highlighted the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with Belgium, noting Belgium’s role as a significant trading partner.

He reiterated Pakistan’s desire to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

President’s Meeting with Swedish Envoy

During discussions with Ambassador Alexandra Berg Von Linde of Sweden, President Zardari spoke of the friendly and cooperative ties between Pakistan and Sweden, which are based on mutual respect and understanding.

He underscored the need to further strengthen these relations for the benefit of both countries.

Earlier, upon their arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the envoys were presented with a guard of honor by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
