President Biden Chairs Virtual Global Summit on Covid-19

Washington, 23 September 2021 (TDI): U.S. President Joe Biden convened a global virtual summit on ‘Ending the Pandemic and Building Back Better’ on Wednesday. President Biden invited leaders of states, private sectors, Philanthropists, and leaders of international organizations to the summit.

During the meeting, President Biden called on leaders to increase the efforts to end the global pandemic by the next year 2022. He also called on to make health security mechanisms better to prevent and prepare for future pandemics.

In the summit, world leaders by answering President Biden’s calls adopted multiple goals in four broad categories: Save Lives by addressing oxygen shortage and ensuring availability of PPE equipment; Vaccinate the World by ensuring ‘equitable access’ to vaccines globally; Build Back Better by setting up a sustainable health security financing system and making local leaderships aware of the ’emerging threats‘ to prevent and prepare Pandemics in the future and Calling the World to Account by adopting similar objectives, keeping track of each other, and supporting each other in achieving their shared objectives.
