Islamabad, 11 August 2021 (TDI): The National Defense Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Hulusi Akar was received by Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan on Wednesday.
Both officials discussed the security situation and regional defense cooperation between Turkey and Pakistan. They also emphasized increasing the military cooperation on training as well as fighting against increasing terrorism in the region.
Pakistan’s Independence Day was also celebrated in advance during the meeting.
Moreover, Defense Minister, Akar conveyed the official invitation from the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for the launching of ‘’BABȔR’’, Pakistan’s first ship of MILGEM Project in the national warship program of Turkey. The launching ceremony is to be scheduled for Sunday in Istanbul.
