PRBC, WCCI Sign MoU for Economic and Trade Cooperation

Lahore (TDI): The Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC) and the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Lahore Division have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance economic cooperation and trade relations between Pakistan and Romania.

The MoU was signed on April 12 by Sohail Shamim Firpo, Chairman of the Pakistan Romania Business Council, and Falahat Imran, President of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On the occasion, Atif Farooqi, the Advisor and COO of Pakistan Romania Business Council said, “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our efforts to empower women entrepreneurs and promote bilateral trade between Pakistan and Romania.”

He further stated, “We look forward to working with WCCI Lahore Division to unlock new business opportunities in both countries.”

President of PRBC North Chapter, Ahmad Ikram Lone remarked on the occasion, “This collaboration will open new avenues for women-led businesses in Pakistan to access European markets through Romania.”

This agreement is aimed at facilitating new, direct avenues of cooperation for trade and business between the WCCI and Romania.

It would also strengthen the collaboration to further enhance economic collaboration, gender-inclusivity, and sustainable trade development between Pakistan and Romania.

Both organizations, under this MoU, would work closely to develop joint initiatives, and organize trade delegations, meanwhile facilitating business ventures and capacity-building programs.

Pakistan Romania Business Council, since founded, has been operating under the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

The organization has been dedicated to boosting economic cooperation and trade ties between Pakistan and Romania.

Through its platform, the organization has also facilitated business partnerships and promoted several investment facilities, between Pakistan and Romania, across various sectors including textiles, information technology (IT), agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.

It has actively engaged with both the government of Pakistan as well as the private sector.

Earlier this year, the Pakistan Romania Business Council signed an MoU with the Sri Lanka Pakistan Business Forum (SPBF) to facilitate regional trade to create a business-conducive environment and contribute in the economic progress of the countries involved.
