Sarajevo, 13 July 2022 (TDI): Islamic Relief stated that numerous families were shattered, made homeless, and left with no means of support after the Bosnian conflict. The statement was given on 12 July 2022.

To assist in repairing and furnishing the homes of people who were impacted by the massacre in the Bosnia region of Srebrenica, the charitable organization is managing a project in Bosnia.

Impact of Bosnia conflict on society

Numerous families were shattered, made homeless, and left with no means of support after the Bosnian conflict. Many residents of Srebrenica lost loved ones and were compelled to leave everything behind in search of safety.

Sadly, many families are still dealing with the effects of having their lives uprooted 26 years later. Families tried to go back to their houses once the war was over but discovered they had been destroyed.

The impacts of having their lives torn apart are still being felt by many families who were impacted by the Bosnian conflict and are living in extreme poverty. Families have been residing in unhygienic and poor circumstances because they are unable to fix their homes.

Islamic Relief assistance in Bosnia

When war broke out in Bosnia in 1992, Islamic Relief was among the first foreign humanitarian organizations to arrive and provide assistance throughout the conflict. Over 7,000 tons of assistance were supplied by Islamic Relief in total.

After the war, they started repairing houses, schools, and health facilities while also assisting families in finding new sources of income.

Islamic Relief has worked to restore 700 homes in Bosnia after the war’s end in 1995. Our most recent project is the rehabilitation of 42 houses. They ensure that the houses have the conveniences needed for a family to live comfortably.

Islamic Relief continues to assist individuals who had to flee their homes and communities during the Bosnia conflict. The main aim is to help disadvantaged communities across the world.
